Snowboards have arrived in Substrata! Summon one from the Vehicles menu (Vehicles > Summon Snowboard), or with the summon vehicle button on the bottom of the screen, hop on and head for the nearest slope.
Gravity does most of the work going downhill, but you can push along on the flat too. Lean into a turn and the board rolls onto its edge to carve, throwing up a spray behind you. Hold space to crouch and charge up a jump, then release to launch. The longer you hold, the bigger the jump.
Your avatar rides properly: standing sideways with feet in the bindings, leaning into turns, swinging their arms, crouching lower as you pick up speed, and soaking up landings with their legs. Ride backwards and you'll switch between regular and goofy stance automatically. And if you wipe out, the board rights itself so you can get going again.
Controls
- W / Up: push forward
- S / Down: brake
- A / D or Left / Right: steer
- Space: hold to charge a jump, release to jump
- C: crouch
